The house was built in the early part of the last century and is situated in a quiet and sunny position in the Bergamasco district, with a fine view of the historic village centre. The property comprises the main house and some modestly sized ancillary buildings (the garage, an outbuilding with a porch, the old cellar with a suggestive brick vault, the woodshed and a small brick structure with a well), all of which overlook the inner courtyard. The house is free on two sides and the main façade faces south. The house is on two levels: on the ground floor we find the kitchen, a dining room, a bathroom, a bedroom, as well as the boiler room with independent access. On the first floor there are three bright bedrooms and a bathroom. The heating system is methane gas.Access to the property is via a characteristic wooden door. Adjacent to the courtyard is a small plot of land, currently used as a vegetable garden, which benefits from good sun exposure.
SITE
The house is located in Bergamasco, a village in the foothills of Monferrato. It is a quarter of an hour from the motorway exits, about an hour from the airports of Turin and Genoa and an hour and a half from the international airport of Malpensa. The area is part of the Piedmont’ territory that was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014. The town is lively and for decades the renowned Regional Truffle Fair, one of the area's characteristic products, has been organised here annually. There are several bars, a tobacconist's, a restaurant and shops selling food and typical products, a butcher's, a hardware shop, a repair workshop and a pharmacy, all of which allow for a pleasant stay without having to resort to a car for daily needs. The village has a Town Hall, Post Office, nursery school and primary school. Middle schools are just a fifteen-minute drive away, and the nearby towns of Alessandria and Nizza Monferrato offer a wide choice of high schools. There is also a generous offer of open-air markets, in particular that of Nizza Monferrato on Friday mornings, where every third Sunday of the month there is a well-known antiques market. The agricultural, tourist and residential characteristics of the area allow for an excellent quality of life, in the midst of nature, with the possibility of using footpaths and bicycle routes.
